Yes, the 'treat' can be anything the pup loves. A toy, even a walk after the potty.... One has to find out what is the pup's most favorite thing and offer that, after a verbal 'yes' or 'good dog' (let's them know immediately they did right while you're getting the treat out of your pocket or getting ready to reward him)
