I didn't want to interfere in suggestions regarding Amy's medical care but took it up on myself to talk with one of her Dr.'s whom I have known for many many years, he listened to me and it looks like therapy will be coming in now, has not prior to this. They will also begin massaging. I asked her Dr. If I could lotion and massage her. She seems to understand when I ask her to move her left foot, I was able to get her to start moving her right foot. They said she is paralyzed on the right side. It the strength in that ankle I felt strongly when she moved it. I believe whole heatedly that she understands when we talk to her.
The Dr. Decreased some meds and changed others so the body swelling has gone down a lot. The Dr. Is having a dressing removed from her right arm as I asked him, it seems to be too tight. I am waiting for that to be done, then will gently massage her arm and we will leave and be back early morning.
Thank you all so much for praying for our DEAR Friends, they appreciate you all so much.
Hugs, Patti and Jack | I am sorry for the long delay in updating Amy's progress.
Amy was transferred to a nursing home three weeks ago, she is back on dialysis three times a week once again.
I have been continuing to take Jack and spend time there with her on each of those days using cream on her feet and hands gently massaging them. My heart pounded with such thankfulness Wendsday as she would nod her head yes each time I asked her if it was ok for me to massage the different areas. Bob was so excited yesterday phoning us to say Amy used her right hand to scratch her chin.
I have downloaded several educational apps on our iPad that are simple pre school, dictionary pictures, I am looking forward to,showing it to Amy they each have sound so I will be able to watch her expressions to see if it can work.
I sure want to thank you all for keeping her, Bob and son Paul and JoAnne in your prayers. They chose to have the stomache feeding tube inserted after she came around breathing on her own. I have told them this week that they need to look into getting Amy into a rehab facility, the nursing home does not do anything in turning her, no lotion massaging, I cant find it in myself to go there as it is upsetting to me.Bob has to remind them with the time schedule on the feeding tube. Amy is so very Blessed with a devoted husband.
Please continue to pray for Amy and her beloved Bob and family. I believe so much in the power of prayer, and am thankfull for you all and your mighty prayers.
