I am so very sorry for your loss of Benji. I am sorry I did not see this thread to now. I go ever so gently and rarely to the RIP threads, as my loss is stilll fresh in my mind.
I can truly only imagine the shock and horror you felt, when you left a "healthy" dog and to come back two hours later to death!. It would have brought me to me knees!
I truly hope that in rescuing this new little one, it eases your heart, and helps you to heal. !
