Jilly at only 3 lbs. was always a dainty chewer though she was persistent and then one day, gulp, she tried to swallow the tied end of one of those barbell-looking small chew bones of rawhide about 3 1/2" long. It was just large enough to lodge in her throat, which swelled around it and cut off her breathing entirely - well, I could force in air but she couldn't.
