You definitely can’t go broke feeding your dog, you just have to be really careful these days with the quality of food you are feeding. Like hobbette said Yorkies are generally small so a 5 lb bag of good quality food will last you for some time... Also with the less expensive, less quality you will be buying more food since they wouldn't be getting the right nutrients- Most of those lower quality Walmart type foods have lots of fillers!!
Just look around and see what you can afford, I agree with looking online at Mr Chewy's I have ordered from that website-
Also Petco/ Petsmart have some decent quality food for not that bad price, and I think they have a special if you buy 3 bags you get a 4th free.. I think that is Petco that does that.
For me my dog is 4.5-5 lbs and I buy him a 5lb food- he will generally take about 2-3 months to finish that bag. He eats 1/3-1/4 a cup a day.
