Yes, any toxin can trigger auto-immune diseases. They can't really "cause" them, but vaccines, chemical wormers, flea and tick treatments, etc can.

I have an Addisonion - feel free to message me if you want to talk more. It's a scary disease especially in the initial stages, but once controlled management isn't to bad. I'm so sorry! Is it typical (electrolytes are crazy) or Atypical (electrolytes normal but stim test positive for Addison's)? I've been where your at - and am happy to help you get through this, my heart goes out to you!

A few things I'd highly recommend - stay away from chemical flea/tick and worming products, avoid vaccines without titers - if possible try to get an exemption for rabies - and stay with very high quality, preservative free foods.
