In uk its never done under anesthetic its a quick in and out with a needle slighty bigger than the normal one, i have not had sam done yot as his first jab made him cry so much i didnt have the heart to make him have his chip as well, he goes back to vets next week for his last jab so am going to have a word with the vet to see if i can have him chipped when he has his hernia op
