This isn't about memory this is about being a professional responsible breeder. I'm not a breeder, but if I were, I would keep a list of people's names to whom I had sold Yorkies, and I would list their puppy’s mom and dad’s name. I would also keep in contact with them and see how the dogs were doing over the years, so that I could better understand my line. I would not sell breeding dogs to others for years and years and years until I knew my lines backwards and forwards, and every which way. If you don't keep any lists and rely on your memory, which you admit is poor, how do you even know if you have trouble with certain lines? Maybe you don’t want to know.
