I had a similar problem just a few weeks ago and this is what happened and how I fixed it...on the outside chance that you are having the same problem...

I put my SD card into my computer just like I always did many times before but it wouldn't recognize it...neither would my camera...my computer is also just a couple of months old and the front of it has several camera card slots.

Well...I put it in the wrong slot and it actually cut one end of the little blue strips on the edge of the card by the brass contacts.

One of them was crossed over at one end so instead of seeing blue lines with brass behind them...the one in the middle looked like an N...instead of ll. Does that make sense?

I gently put the end back in place and inserted the card into my camera and it worked.

I still use that card and it's fine but I download my photos to my computer each time before removing the card.
