Having raised yorkie for 16 years I have found that rear dewclaws are uncommon in yorkies, or at least in my lines. Years ago I had purchased a female from other breeder and her pups nearly always had rear dewclaws. I have to admit that I was so use to not checking for rear dewclaws that the first time she had pups I overlooked them so her pups had the front ones removed but not the rear. As far as I know yorkies always have the front dewclaw and yes, they can grow back if they are not removed properly.
