I agree with the majority, I would never have an animal put under anesthesia without bloodwork first. The ONE time in my rescue group we had a very health seeming dog surrendered with a hematoma on her ear, the owner gave us bloodwork that was only 4 months old. We decided to save the funds and not redo bloodwork. That dog died 2 weeks later from renal failure. If new bloodwork had been done, extra measures could have been taken, and she probably would have survived and gone on to a forever home. I'll never make that mistake again!
