How old is your puppy?
General rule of thumb: 1 month old pup can hold it for 1 hr, 2 month old pup can hold it for 2 hrs, 3 month old 3 hrs & so on.
Personally, I think it's an invitation to accidents if you leave them for hrs w/out a designated indoor potty area. Mine are trained to go indoors & out. They prefer to hold it til we go out, but we live in a condo w/no yard, so we don't have that potty luxury.
4 got to add that mine go poopie 2 x's a day.
