We found out a few years ago that yorkie breeders were bringing in silkies to add new healthy blood to their lines, therefore the lines between yorkies and silkies are very fuzzy, the AKC has been dealing with this issue for a while.
Pedigrees are as good as the breeder they come from. I am not saying your dog is not a yorkie, but if you check the AKC descriptions a yorkie is square and a silky is more obolong. that is what one of the main criterias when a judge is looking at at a show.. My Dyson is starting to look more squarerish i am hoping he grows longer, and I have a very good pedigree for him, remember this breeds can always throw back a lesser looking baby, is all in the DNA..a silky can throw back a yorkie looking dog, because a silky is a mix of the yorkie and the australian terrier, a yorkie has no reason to throw back a silky , unless australian DNA is mix in there somewhat.. this been our argument for a while..
