Yes because they are private clubs in CA ppl smoke in them based on the club house's individual rules.
Personally I know a few members who only go to meetings and events while a majority...well they pay a whole lot of extra dues at the bar.
I attended a wedding in one a couple years ago and the stench of smoke made many people sick and I ended up taking my kids outside immediately after entering.
It had been closed for 2 days the smell just says and seeps into everything. Very gross.
Honestly after going to 4 different Moose and Elk lodges they were all the same.
Not my cup of tea.
