Maybe you could just put the leash and collar on her and let her go around the house all day without you holding it. Mine doesn't like to walk on the leash too well yet but she is used to having it on and dragging it around the house. I do this for training purposes. She's learning she can't run out the front door because I can grab that leash or she never runs from me when she has something in her mouth she's not aloud to have because she knows I can grab the leash. Sounds like you will need to take slow baby steps with her.

I hate it when dogs have only been kennelled, it does not make a well adjusted pet. I'm sure patience will bring her out of it. It's an all new world to her.
