Hopefully they just need more time and your careful eye in the meantime. I got a female because I read opposite sexes do have a better chance of getting along without any problems. I know other people who have had the same sexes and they eventually get along. It is always scary to see them growl and snarl, but it is necessary for the adult to put the puppy in his/her place, but you just need to keep your eye on them and never leave them together when you are not around. I will separate my two even if I go upstairs or downstairs just for a minute. You have to realize it will probably take a while for your older one to accept the "baby" (just like children).

Good luck.
