That's really young, don't expect too much at first. They say you should train in short periods, and it's better to train 5 minutes at a time twice a day, then one long 10 minutes session, especially at that age. Training should always be fun. I took Joey to a tricks training class at Petsmart, and they basically teach you how to train your dog. It’s important to always use a verbal cue like “Yes” when they perform the wanted behavior. When I say “yes”, Joey knows he’ll get a treat. It’s similar to clicker training, but you use the word “yes” instead of the click. There are some really good instructions online, and I think they learn faster if you use hand singles with your verbal cues. It's important to not talk too much when you are training.
