Default Training and eating kibbles...

Hi all,

I haven't been on for a couple of weeks, but I did want to say that I picked up my little female, Scout. She and Jem are getting along pretty well now. He hasn't has any major issues with welcoming her.

I did forget though how hard puppyhood is! Maybe it's just that I'm 11 years older since the last time I did it. The hardest part obviously is the potty training, especially now because she cannot go out yet since she has not had all her shots. She will go on the wee wee pad very sporadically! I try to hold her on it when I take her out of her crate or pen, sometimes she will go on it sometimes not! *sigh.

She has a pretty good appetite but when I mix kibbles with her wet food she only eats up a little bit. I'm transitioning her from purina puppy chow to blue buffalo kibbles. The funny thing is she will eat the kibbles from my hand like a treat but not when they are mixed in the wet food. They are so smart!! eventually I want to get her off wet food altogether, but am feeding her Wellness for puppies right now, which is so much better than the Cesar's that she was eating when she came home.

She is doing great at night sleeping I her crate without any whimpering except for the first night. She even walks in there sometimes in the day to nap in her own! Basically after running around with Jem for a while I will put her in her puppy pen and she goes in willingly then settles down for a nap. Or she goes in there when I cannot keep my eye on her.

Sorry for the long post, but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on doing something that I am not, please by all means do so. thanks!!
