This evening Cali killed a hawk that attacked her. She is 3 lbs 14 oz and the hawk was much bigger than she was, but she was faster. I don't think she has ever hurt anything I her life, but the hawk took her by surprise and she whirled around, grabbed it by the neck and shook it harder than I had any idea she could. Guess she broke it's neck -- no blood. She had a small scratch on her back so I called the vet who insisted that she get a antibiotic shot because the vet said hawks claws and beaks are "dirty".
Cali is fine - a little typed up, but no real problems. She keeps wanting to go to the spot of the incident.
Can't believe my gentle, sweet little girl could do that.
So, please be very careful. We live in a suburban area, not even the country
