Dottie, I never, ever cry around Kia. I remain, cheerful and encourage her to come out on the deck with me, in the mornings, when it is cool and there is shade.
My husband & I prepare a homemade renal failure diet for her, and most days, she will eat 2 tablespoons of it, 5 times a day. Yesterday and today, her appetite is poor.
You're right, I will know when it is time.....just as I knew when it was time for Sydney.
I am very grateful for your support, and the support of other YT members.
God was very merciful when He called Sydney, home. She didn't suffer. Her death came very quickly. On a Thursday & Friday, she refused to eat. Our Vet ran her levels on Saturday, they had sky-rocketed, we did sub-q's, Saturday & Sunday, and on Monday, I held her in my arms as my Vet helped her to Cross the Rainbow Bridge. She went very peacefully, and the last words she heard, were my telling her, "You are the best dog in the world, and I love you." I had told her that all of her life.
She truly was the best dog in the world.
My little Kia misses her, and I suspect she knows she will be with her again.
