Pfeiffer's weren't removed as a pup bc Tammy had some concerns w/ her litter during those early days when you usually remove them. I have no prob w/ that

. Still, I asked our vet before her spay if we *should* take that opportunity to remove them - -and she said she wouldn't recommend it AT ALL. She said it's
extremely painful, infection is dangerous, there can be ongoing problems after, and there are no issues w/ just keeping them anyway. We just trim her dews whenever we trim her other claws.
Honestly, I'd prefer that breeders just leave them nowadays. It's easy to keep them trimmed, and personally I'd rather them not go thru it - just like I wouldn't declaw a kitty. I can't see a good reason, personally, that would drive me to have them removed...it's part of their little body.
