I said 10 years but I'll bet it's more than 15 years or more that every nonformal party I have gone to - be it family or friends or business or church - has the huge flat pan of foil-covered brisket that the host at one point mentions how long he's slow-cooked it! It's always 9/10-plus hours! I don't think Texans know how to party without BBQ brisket! Only formal dinners or a very tar-tar party doesn't serve brisket "for the men" in this state!
