My Daisy is a genius!
So I taught her last week to ring the bell whenever she needs to go potty and she always rings it now even if she is on leash, so I thought I would get her on camera! I must apologize in advance for my horrible video skills.
She learned the bell in a matter of minutes over a couple of days...of course I had some super yummy treats on my person, so she happily obliged. I made the bell with some string and bells I got from Hobby Lobby. Ignore the first few seconds of the video, as I am just taking her off her leash. When I say "potty" she tries to go to the front door because she knows it will lead her outdoors to go potty. However I only have a bell on the back door, so that's where she usually goes out to go potty. But she will sometimes go to the front door, if its closer like in the video, and just jump up at the door to try to get out. Also, notice that she rings the bell twice because I wasn't moving fast enough the first time, lol! And she is ONLY 14 weeks old!!
I would not say she is fully housetrained but she hasn't had an accident since about a week ago and it was totally my fault. I was trying to teach her the bell and trying to get her to ring it before we went out but she really had to go and she just went right in front me, lol. We have been working on potty training religiously since she stepped foot in this house about 1 month ago.
