I'm sure that lots of exercise will help develop more muscle mass in any dog. It certainly helps to keep to keep them from getting overweight.

During the coldest part of our last winter Gracie did not get to go out for her walks everyday and she ended up being a bit of a porker by spring time. We started back to our regular routine of at least two walks a and sometimes 3. The extra weight fat dropped off quickly. She just loves her outdoor time.
