At the end of the day he's just 7 months old however he is a bigger Yorkie, I estimate he weighs at least 11 Pounds. I think we might get a dog next spring since getting a pup in winter is quite complicated. Whether it's another Yorkie, a pug or a Golden Retriever at least my dog will be prepared and probably if a slightly bigger dog grows up with him he will respect him.
Have you had a large dog before such as a Golden? Don't count on dogs respecting each other because one grows up from a pup with another. Yorkies can be pugnacious and confrontational - they don't know their size. Even brothers/sisters can fight, they can play rough - too rough. A Golden would not normally be a good playmate for a Yorkie unless you are a VERY watchful, conscientious dog owner who plans to supervise their every moment together. A Goldie is avg. 65 - 75 lb. dog and though no doubt there are Yorkies raised and living with them and other similar-sized dogs in the family without trouble where the owners are extremely watchful and careful, just as surely there are cases where one has been injured or killed by one. I'd be very careful in my selection of a second dog if I had a Yorkshire Terrier. Even the biggest, toughest Yorkie is still a very small, fragile dog under the paw of a 75 lb. dog.
