I don't have a cotton coated Yorkie but I do use a small flea comb (it happens to be for a cat, but Chloe doesn't know that!) to get the eye gunk off her face. It works like a dream. As a side note, it also works wonderfully for pulling little sand burrs out of her paws without hurting her.
