I look at pet insurance this way...If you have a small fortune than don't bother with pet insurance. If not than protect yourself from going in debt.
I have VPI for Rocky & Daisy and I'm very happy with this provider. Our vet has us pay and then I provide VPI the the statement to be reimbursed.
Also be aware if your puppy is AKC registered then he is insured I think free for 3 months. You can confirm this:
