From what I understand, those with SAD and a dog can manage to deal with those stresses because of the dog's presence, though sometimes the animal itself creates some of the stressors. I think having that dog along is what allows them to even step out the front door often and then deal better with stress as it might come. Just having that 4-legged friend beside them can make all the difference.
