I was told by one breeder if her females tend to be a little larger but within the standard she would keep them for her own breeding program, to keep her lines open. The smaller ones would go for sale, but would be held longer than the twelve weeks based on size. Not that she breeds for smaller, but she would keep larger instead of smaller.She told me if they are charting to be under 4lbs..they go for pets only. I liked that about her, but got stuck on Biewers so I wound up going with someone else..she didn't breed Biewers only standard. I guess the reasoning that there are fewer females available would be why they are more expensive.
