Absolutely...hand held or stand mounted, my hand is between them and that dryer...and I keep the dryer moving when I hand hold! I am hoping the stand lasts a little while...it is great to point it at the feet on low...which is still heated but not very hot, since their feet always seem to take longer to dry. I use the dryer more hand held than on the stand but when I lay the dryer down while it is running, the vibration and sound difference kind of freaks them out so that they move away in fear...which I don't like.
