I took Lola for a shot on Friday she was due for her distemper and lepto. The vet was ready to do both but I told them No just one, and I will hold her, no going in the back. Because Lola had some discomfort from her lepto a year ago, I now ask for a premed which I thought was benadryl, but they told me it was meloxicam so that is what she got again. She was given the 3 year DHP. She had few treats after the shot and seemed fine, we stayed close to the office and I did a few errands with her. About 30 min after the shot she threw up once, then again, it looked like from the treat so I thought ok treats at the vet not a good idea, then she threw up some bile and was getting agitated, so we went back, the vet said her temp was a little high and gave her the bendrayl we then sat in the waiting room for about half an hour and they took her temp again and it was normal so off we went and aside from her being sleepy all was well. I do think things have changed with vaccines, years ago I liked to save money so I would take my yorkie in and have everything done at once, teeth cleaning, every vaccine under the sun, you name it, it was a one stop shopping appointment and none of them ever had a problem. Could be the dogs but it's strange how many reactions there now are. Since I have had Lola I will now only get one vaccine at a time and go early in the day and then stay close to the vets office for the hour following the shot.

I hope your dog's numbers all return to normal
