I bought an Andis pet dryer with a stand at the pet store. It is half again quieter than my blow dryer...which I was using, same wattage, but it has the stand...which I like. What I do not like is that the heat and air flow switches are not separate like my blow dryer. "High" is high heat and high air flow, "Medium" is somewhat less in both heat and air flow, and "Low" is cooler and less windy. So, in the summer when we don't need all that heat but want the high air flow, I hand hold the dryer, and release the 'cool blast' button every now and then so there's enough heat to keep them warm. I do sometimes still use my hair dryer where I can set heat and air flow separately AND still have my 'cool blast' button. By the time the Andis needs to be replaced, I hope to have found 'the perfect' dryer...lol.
