This is a moot point, but I think it may have been in your best interest to have everything in written in some kind of contract.This way you know what the breeder is providing etc. Was there some kind of contract written when you left the desposit such as....what you were buying, what happened to the deposit if you backed out or the seller did....etc.etc.
