The vet had always helped BoBo and has been his vet for quite a while, so we trusted him..We went to another vet and they said that this rarely happens and the chances of them getting the disease from not being vaccinated is greater than the risk of the shock itself. NEEDLESS to say, still, we are no longer getting BoBo vaccinated!

The ER vet said that there has been an increase in dogs having this reaction lately since they have released a new type of vaccine.
.duno much more about it, it's something to think about.

Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions! We will definitely be more wary and do more research before things like this!!

GOSH!!! I give my own vaccinations...Pro-Gard 5 vaccines have changed to a "new name", as a result of two pharmaceuticals combining....now Pro-Gard 5 is "NOBIVAC CANINE 1-DAPPv"...supposed to be the same vaccine as the ProGard 5....now I am concerned this "new vaccine" your vet refers to may be this????? Any breeders out there using this replacement for ProGard 5???
