I wouldn't be too worried if you have not actually seen a flea. Eggs are extremly hard to spot on the body. They are kind of like a translucent small grain of sand.. Get a flea comb and comb through him to see if you pick up fleas or flea poo (black grains of stuff on the body.)

I used Frontline Plus on my cats last year when we were having a tick problem. The ticks loved the stuff but it did kill the fleas. I use Advantage II on Gracie and it works great.

Usually if you are still finding fleas on your pet after using Frontline or Advantage it is because you have the critters laying eggs in your house and they are too much for the treatment to keep up with. Hopefully that is not your problem. You can also use the flea comb on your pet when you bring him in from outside to make sure you get anything that may have jumped on him when he was out there.

Check his skin to make sure he is not having any type of skin issue. Sometimes certain foods can cause itching as well.
