I have been living in a house full of Mission style furniture (Stickley) with very light beige walls...this is really his style cuz he insisted on the furniture...thats pretty much it...

I'm not sure what my style is, I love pretty! don't mind florals, ...I love all colors...thats the problem, I thought I wanted bold like a teal liv room, bright yellow kitchen etc., but realize that my fashion sense will soon say..."what were you thinking"....I'm thinking neutral something with pops of something...not dull and boring...oi this isn't going to be easy...I have no idea...so get your plans together!
Been MY personal experience to stick to very light color....after painting a kitchen a "pale" yellow, when I got finished, you couldnt breathe in that room!!! The walls were closing in on top of me, and the shade of yellow actually hurt my eyes....and it was a very light yellow on that chip! So for ME, I pick out a pale color, then back it down from there a couple of shades lighter! I personally have found I do better with just a hint of the color...by the time it goes up on all the walls, it is just right for my senses....not over powering, and yet I can see it! That site with all the BM paint colors is super! She is right...tones, and undertones!.....my sunroom is a white with pale lavender undertones....so pale you just think you see a hint of it, but when anything with lavender or purple shades goes into the room, you can "feel" it picked up on the walls! Hard to explane.....but it works super for me!
