My Max wouldn't poop on a piddle pad that had urine on it. He had to have a fresh one. Try anticipating when he needs to poop and make sure he has a fresh pad. Limiting his freedom to a small-ish space in your home where you can supervise him closely also helps with potty training. When you can't supervise, put him in an xpen or gate him in a small area.
Your chihuahua could be inspiring the marking. Is she spayed? If not, marking will be likely be a constant challenge.
