Yeah I would think it's not the norm for such a young dog to need a dental. And those baby teeth could start causing issues so should probably come out asap.

Jackson's baby teeth coming in weird (he had the double row of canines too) were part of what caused him to need $1200 dental surgery at 3 years old ... the baby tooth that wasn't extracted quick enough pushed the permanent tooth a bit to the side JUST to the point where it was poking him in his gums. Not to mention, his breath had started to stink with those double teeth!

I was bad at keeping up with his teeth until his dental. Had I brushed every day, or even every other, etc, he definitely wouldn't have needed a professional cleaning by 3. He mainly had build up on his canines.
