For the first week, I did like one of the YT members suggested and kept pushing his paws up against the bell and telling him "good boy, go outside, go potty" and after a week of doing this, he started ringing the bells on his own! He has been accident free for one full week. Just have to make sure I get to the door when he rings!
Anyway, I just wanted to share my success. I suggest that if any of you are having major dificulties with potty training, that you try hanging some bells on your door and giving it a shot. Before we tried this, he would never let me know he needed to go outside and I'd have to watch him like a hawk all of the time. Now I feel confident to let him wander the house without my constant supervision.
This is getting long-winded. Just wanted to share! |
You should be VERY pleased with yourself and your baby boy! He's smart - WOW, I can imagine how happy you are. That's definitely cause for celebration.
Did you ever use wee wee pads or newspaper along with trying to train him to go outside or did you just try and train him to go outside?
Anyway, way to go
