Are you sure you need a lo fat food or do you just need to monitor how much and when she eats throughout the day? I use Nature's Variety Instinct Boost and mine are doing very well on it...no one is over weight. I feed NV frozen raw and the Boost ...alternating every few days...they love the raw food but they also love a crunch now and then. It's grain free and I didn't see beet pulp on the ingredient panel but it is high in protein and fat but mine are not gaining weight. A high quality food that keeps her full longer might help with the food obsession. |
I already use Gerber water, and they all stay nice and clean, but I do notice some minimal staining on Lola when the kibble contains beet pulp. I noticed her getting chubby, and don't want her to become obese, so I cut back the kibble a little bit, (weight gain = giving her too much) and began adding fresh cooked vegetables. Now, eating less, Lola seems to get hungry earlier, and she is miserable. The troops eat at 8am and 4 pm. I have never free fed, because I think Lola would eat until she exploded, if I'd let her. I measure their food and sit with them while they eat to be sure that everyone gets their full portion. I thought it might help if she got the same amount of kibble, just a lower calorie, weight control formula, and vegetable supplements. It was just something I was willing to try, but I certainly welcome any and all suggestions. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me.
