Because she was starved in the puppy mill, she is now food obsessed, but I need to get her back down to a more healthy weight. Thank you both for pointing me in the right direction.
I switched to distilled water and we have totally dry faces here with no tear stains whatsoever and believe me, Moo has had a wet, how shall I say...not so fresh smelling...face since the day she was born but...no more!

Are you sure you need a lo fat food or do you just need to monitor how much and when she eats throughout the day? I use Nature's Variety Instinct Boost and mine are doing very well on it...no one is over weight. I feed NV frozen raw and the Boost ...alternating every few days...they love the raw food but they also love a crunch now and then. It's grain free and I didn't see beet pulp on the ingredient panel but it is high in protein and fat but mine are not gaining weight. A high quality food that keeps her full longer might help with the food obsession.
