I feel your pain. My Yoshi even turns his nose up at Weruva. I spent hundreds of dollars trying to find the perfect combination of food that he would eat. I really had a problem with feeding him something he didn't seem to like. Luckily, I have a 90 pound Lab that will eat his leftovers After months & months of trial & error, the 15-minute technique & hundreds of dollars...we finally settled on Acana Grasslands (cut in half, he won't eat it whole) mixed with ZiwiPeak Lamb. I also throw in some finely diced chicken, carrot slivers, a green bean or Weruva on occasion to give him some variety. But every meal continues to be a struggle.

We got a 13-week old Morkie pup over the weekend & she's bumped up his appetite a bit. She's a chowhound & gobbles everything up in less than a minute. I have to portion her meals so she doesn't overdo it. Seeing the difference in how they react to food, I've come to the conclusion that my Yoshi is just not food motivated. And that's okay. He's a grazer. He'll eat when he wants to. I'm like that too. I very rarely eat a full plate of food or a meal.

I leave Yoshi a very small plate of kibble (about 5 pieces cut in half) & some kibble in his puzzle toy. He'll eat a few pieces from his puzzle toy every so often. He never eats from the plate. But it gives me peace of mind to have it there. I know I'm an overprotective Mommy He'll skip a meal sometimes. But I know he'll eat when he's hungry. We have a very set schedule. So he knows exactly when & where he gets his meal. And if he doesn't want to eat it, he knows where his kibble is if he needs to nibble before his next meal.

After my experience with Yoshi, I really don't believe that there is an answer to the New Yorkie Mom dilemma of how to get a stubborn pup to eat. Every pup is different. Techniques that work for some, won't work for others. It's good that you have the patience to work with your pup & find a food/technique that you both agree on.

Sorry, I know that this looong post probably doesn't really help your situation of trying to get your pup her much needed nutrition. But I would say, since she almost finished her kibble with the ground bison meat, you KNOW that she likes it. I would continue to offer her ONLY that for a while. That way, she knows what to expect from meal time. I think that by adding variety too early, I created Yoshi's finicky ways. She may not eat the kibble & bison for her midday meal. But when you're consistent & offer it again for her evening meal, she'll start to get it. I know it's tough to spend hours wondering if your pup is hungry. But trust me...consistency is so important. Maybe add a green bean or something on top (not mixed in) in a few days if you feel bad that she's been eating the exact same thing every single meal.

I'm sorry this post is so long. But I've been going through the exact same thing you are, so I figured I'd just share my experience. Your pup is lucky to have a Mum who cares for her so much Good luck!!!
