I think someone mentioned this up there, but we had to learn to ignore Dexter because it was getting to be an all time thing.
He knows that he has a lot of play and lounging around on my lap time, but that he also needs to amuse himself sometimes.
He's smart though. He learned to throw his toys high in the air over my laptop when it was on my lap! (He's positively jealous of my latop - head butts it out of the way and everything).
He knows now that if he brings me a toy and I don't throw it, then he just plays by himself, or lies on my feet lol.
I suppose it's up to you how you want your puppy to behave
