Melatonin is used as a sedative for dogs. It's used to treat insomnia in humans (although it does occur naturally in the body). Did the vet say why they put her on melatonin??
Melatonin has a possibility of clashing with certain other drugs like corticosteroids- prednisone is in that class.....
