The Yorkshire Terrier breed was 'developed' in Yorkshire, England, in its current 'configuration' but some of the early 'Yorkie' dogs from which the breed originated, were brought to England from Scotland...known as "Scotch Terriers"...if memory serves...

It's a very interesting history...worth reading every now and again.
