As for vaccines, they ask if you want them and you have the option to say yes or no. It's not pushing per se...it is just what they believe is good for your pups. NOw, I will say that I would not want one to insist...but most do not. Suggesting what they feel is needed does not mean you have to do it.
No, they don't just 'suggest'...they demand you have all available vaccines or you can not bring your dog into the clinic at all. I have had them go as far as to tell me they would only see them in the parking lot if they didn't have all vaccines or I would have to take them somewhere else...so I did

The other vet and I had a loooong discussion over the phone about vaccines and he has the same protocol. He did finally, after an hour or so and quoting several studies on new vaccine protocol and titers, agree to see them but he said he would not be held responsible if they picked something up in his clinic. Also, he went as far as to say 'Now, if you want to take the chance with the lives of your dogs and only go on titers, well, that's your business but...if your precious pets mean anything to you at all you will get their yearly vaccines so they are protected.'

No, they don't suggest around here...they demand and require...that's why I end up driving so far to see decent vets for different things.
