I wouldn't blame your little guy too much about this. There are a lot of dogs out there with owners that have not taught them proper manners. There are also dogs out there that may have some serious personality disorders due to bad breeding. Some people actually enjoy making their dogs aggressive. I would be very careful approaching a dog you don't know. Don't let your little guy within reach of the new dog. Hold him up where he is safe or sit with him on your lap so your dog has the upper hand and some safety as well. If a dog is friendly it will do the proper dog sniffing and tail wagging. Learn to watch for body signals from the other dog.
Sometimes even a friendly dog will view your little furry guy as something to play with. Until proper introductions are done and you feel secure that the dog is truly friendly keep your little guy safe. |
