The standard is 4 to 7 lbs. What I am saying is that many people who want these tiny dogs get scamed by people who sell them underage puppies to make the buyer think it is going to be a tiny dog. Then it turns out the dog is actually over sized and the people get disappointed. I wish you could see the number of these dogs that end up just in the NYC area shelters alone. They are 8 to 20 pound dogs that people have either abandoned or given to the shelter due to the size and the fact they never wanted anything but a fashion accessory to begin with. The small breed dogs are being mass produced at such a rate and discarded almost as fast because so many are produced by thoughtless money hungry people who just want to make some fast and easy money.
