From 7 pm until 8 am is 13 hours...that's a long time for a 4 month old to go without eating. I'd put a little kibble where he can snack when he gets hungry in the night...he is only 4 months old, so if he's active in the nighttime, he's burning up his dinner likely. Unless he's a real chow hound, he likely won't eat the kibble UNLESS he is actually hungry. Good luck.
