Mine are aging too and although they haven't slowed down yet, the are nearing the end of their natural life spans which makes me very sad. I live each day to the fullest with them. I agree that you should get that mouth looked at -- my Barney had to undergo two orthopedic surgeries and a dental procedure all within a 4 month period and he just turned 12. I had a cardiac assessment done first to make sure his little heart could take it and to help the vets choose the right protocol for him. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I'm sorry your baby is slowing down, but that's the inevitable fact we all will face and it just stinks. Hugs!
